Super Big News!

I'm so excited to announce that Kallie Brynn Photography has undergone a huge transformation! Since last October (yes, a year ago), all new branding for KBP has been in the works.

A huge thanks to Anna Bond at Rifle Paper Co for her hard work. I am in LOVE with the final product and hope you will be, too!

With that, an all new WEBSITE has launched.

And an all new BLOG, including the url (that's the website address, to be clear for my momma). ;)

Yes, dkbuckmaster is being put to rest and http://kalliebrynn.blogspot.com is now the official home of Kallie Brynn Photography's blog. Go look - there's a new post or two waiting for you!

Please be sure to update your subscriptions, rss feeds, email notifications, bookmarks, etc.

I appreciate you all so very much and am looking forward to more big things to come! See you at the other blog!

Much love and thanks,
Kallie

Tova meets Big Papa - on Film

Somehow it took a year and a half to introduce the Tovanator to my maternal grandfather. We decided to name him "Big Papa" for T. She calls all of her Grandpas "papa," can say "big," and, well, it fits his stature, so we thought it was great! Grandpa and GranJean drove down to my parents' house in Tallahassee from Jackson, Mississippi, and we headed up for a fast weekend visit. We had a lovely time - the best part was seeing how T reacted to Grandpa. She took right to GranJean, but just wasn't so sure about her Big Papa. In the end, she gave kisses all around. Such a sweetie.

I LOVE this picture. I feel like T is actually me and this is a picture from my childhood. And the one below is such a great reaction to Big Papa messing with T!

I have to be honest. Before I grabbed the roll of black and white Neopan film, Tova had unrolled part of the new roll I grabbed and I was flustered. I did not mean to grab Neopan. I meant to grab 400H (color). Oops. Oh well. I still love them!

Much love for my family,

David's 25th Birthday Fiesta on Film

** This blog post is located on the new blog, here: http://kalliebrynn.blogspot.com/ **

I'm super excited to share these photos with you! I loved designing this fiesta-themed party for my hubs. We had such a great time!

For the invitation, I printed out the lettering and then drew the "papel picado" design around the words. I went over everything with a carbon pen, burned a screen with my Gocco machine, and made prints.

I used air plants, bougainvillea blooms, beautiful cacti, mangos, and limes as centerpieces.

The "25" papel picado (Mexican banner) took about two months to complete. I drew out the design like the invitation. Then I cut it out with an X-acto over heavy cardstock to make a template. I then folded each color of tissue paper to make 8 layers and cut each color separately. I had calluses on my fingers from the knife.
