Too many desserts!

We had a wonderful Saturday. Lots of really good food (including two different pies) at David's dad's with the family for Beth and Josh's engagement celebration.

Before we left, dad and Louise gave us some adorable gifts for our baby girl!
[a gator on the butt with matching booties]
SO cute- all of it!

Then we went to Rachel and Matt's house (Matt is still in California) and Logan, Laura, and Justin all came over. We had THE best time! We really miss them! Rachel cooked dinner for the others, but we were completely stuffed. She left for a second and came back with these gorgeous and delicious cupcakes with pink strawberry icing! We were completely surprised and that was way too cute of her. After eating, we had a night of hilarious poker. We haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Of course Logan won - but Kallie came in second (that's right!) and David was third. Kallie was the chip leader for the first half of the game until Logan started taking her for all she was worth! We had a blast.

We're headed to Tallahassee this weekend and can't wait to go fishing and hang out with Kallie's parents. The first week of October, the four of us are also heading out to Nashville for a fun fall vacation! We're piling up a list of things to do, so if you have any ideas (Kallie has never been there and its been a while for the others), please let us know! In the meantime, it's back to work and growing a baby girl! :)

Much love, d&k.

Little Girl Flowers!

We had a lovely surprise today:
"Congrats on having a girl" flowers!
from David's mom and Hank.
Thank you!!

Being crafty.

Kallie made the mobile for our nursery last week. It's hanging above the changing table - where it will stay. David is working on two paintings for the nursery. We'll be sure to post them when he's done (they're super cute!)
The nursery so far...

Three Hundred Posts.

We've been holding out posting for a few days to make the 300th post special!

Yesterday we had an amazing day. We went to the doctor for Kallie's 20 week ultrasound.

PregAug20_20weeks2.jpgWe were both super anxious and didn't have to wait long at all for the nurse to take us to the ultrasound room. After seeing our baby for a few minutes, the nurse worked her way from the head to the toes. So it took a little while until we found out the sex...
It's a GIRL!! With certainty!

We already knew she was a wiggle worm - kicking and twirling around. She didn't let us down for the ultrasound - moving around, waving her hands, kicking her feet. It was fantastic! All of her organs and limbs look perfect. Simply beautiful! Her four heart chambers were pumping away. She's 12 ounces - just on schedule.

If you click on the photo, it'll take you to a few more from the ultrasound on Kallie's Flickr page. We also have the whole ultrasound on VHS! We're going to get it transfered to DVD and have a digital copy. Let us know if you'd like to see it!

Kallie gained 3 pounds since the last visit four weeks ago. Her blood pressure is still great. And the blood results from the last exam came back great - really low risk for diseases, etc.

Just so everyone knows:
1. We don't have a name. We might not tell you when we do. We'll let you know when we're ready.
2. The colors are still green and yellow. Too much pink makes Kallie nauseous. Please contain yourselves.

Thank you for all of your much needed prayers and thoughts! We're half way through now - 20 more weeks to go! Keep praying for health! We're really looking forward to the coming months! Horray!

Much love, Kallie and David

1. Kallie is still working away on Ben and Amanda's beautiful wedding photos. With all of the baby excitement, she's unfortunately let herself get a bit distracted....
2. We went to dinner with the family before Amy and Scott left town last week. There are pictures on the Flickr website.
3. We had dinner with great friends from UF - Bill, Diane, and their daughter Ella. It was so great to see them! They live in Lakeland, so hopefully we'll get together more often!

Are you serious, Hannity?

Start at 2:55. They are discussing Edward's affair, and Colmes brings up that McCain has had an affair as well. His point is that if we can't trust Edwards, how can we trust McCain? Get ready for the worst answer ever from any human being, except maybe for this person. I didn't really think someone could eclipse the ridiculousness that is John Edwards. So hats off to you, Sean Hannity for your accomplishment.

Wedding Weekend.

Our good friends, Ben and Amanda, are getting hitched Saturday night! We're headed to Winter Park this afternoon for the festivities and are super excited! Kallie is the photographer, which means David is working, too. But it's so much fun when it's all of your best friends! We can't wait to see everyone!

Since we'll be in WP on Sunday, we're planning on going to our old church, Summit. We're so happy to be able to visit again. Hopefully we'll see some old friends!

And please pray for the weather to hold up Saturday evening at 6pm! The ceremony is outside under a beautiful tree by a lake. It would be a shame not to see the sunset in the background - or not be outside at all! Hopefully that goes well and everything is simply perfect for the lovely bride and groom.

Much love,

A Soccer Player, for certain.

PregAug05_1.jpgKallie's outfit: David's mom - sweater; the lovely Debbi - shirt and pants. So very thankful!

Our baby is a natural soccer player. Two nights ago, Kallie was doing her normal 'laying on back, pressing a bit on the belly, trying to feel the baby' thing and her belly began to poke out at random moments. She had noticed this in the past couple of weeks, but just wasn't so sure about it. Well, David's hand finally felt one of these pokes and determined it wasn't digestion. So last night, we tried again. It wasn't as profound and there weren't as many pokes, but our baby certainly was at it again. And this morning when Kallie woke up - same thing. Exciting news, right! It barely feels like anything from the inside when it happens, so no wonder Kallie is having a hard time feeling the baby kick around throughout the day.

Two weeks from today until we find out - boy or girl!

I fought the [ocean] and the [ocean] won.

080308DavidBeach.jpgDavid and his beach hat.

David and Kallie were having fun in the ocean. We were racing in on waves - David on a boogie board and Kallie on an inflatable raft thing. The wave caught the end of Kallie's raft and started to flip her over - feet backwards over her head. This did not feel too great on the preggers belly. She fell, her beautiful sunglasses were taken by the wave, and she quickly readjusted her bikini. Then the next wave came - just as strong, and she fell over and scraped up her knee. More bathing suit readjusting. A wonderful team of David, Larry, and Louise helped comb the bottom of the ocean, but it was no use. The tide was going out and the undertow was pretty strong. Lost at sea are my Kate Spades. And you know how much Kallie loves Ms. Spade. Or you should. Sigh.

Other than that and some skin burnage, we had a more than wonderful time at the beach with Amy, Scott, Larry, Louise, and the little bit that Catherine was there. Delicious food and a lovely ocean. Great weather, too. And we Wii'd with the family, which was funny.

Now back to work.

Love, d&k
